Ingredients:
- 1 lt red wine merlot
- 180ml water
- 180gr honey
- 2 oranges
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 pcs star anise
- 10 whole cloves
- Half a tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 150 ml of brandy
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
How to:
- Cut one orange into slices and pin on, the cloves. Squeeze the second orange and keep the juice.
- On medium heat, heat the water with the honey. When they are mixed well, add the red wine and the rest of the spices.
- Cardamom, star anise, cinnamon sticks, orange slices with pinned cloves, vanilla.
- Add the nutmeg and the orange juice.
- Heat over low to medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes. We do not want it to boil because the alcohol will evaporate.
- Remove from the heat and add the brandy.
- Strain and serve hot.
