It seems so much to put in words, but the right words are warm hearts, love and respect! That is what has made us the country we are today and gotten us through all these years. There is so much to know about Greece that I don’t think I can tell you over a short article. I will try though.
Greece is widely considered to be the cradle of Western culture and democracy. Modern democracies owe a debt to Greek beliefs in government by the people, trial by jury, and equality under the law. The ancient Greeks pioneered in many fields that rely on systematic thought, including biology, geometry, history, philosophy, and physics. They introduced such important literary forms as epic and lyric poetry, history, tragedy, and comedy. In their pursuit of order and proportion, the Greeks created an ideal of beauty that strongly influenced Western art.
Influencing civilizations through arts, dance, theater, literature and sciences, Greece is a country said to be “Heaven on Earth”. Nature has blessed Greece with numerous things such as Chios Mastic tree, Olive trees, the amazing Mediterranean Sea and many more.
Ancient history defines this country. Full of sights such as Parthenon, Acropolis and some less known to the public in smaller cities such our base, Katerini, like Dion right below Olympus, home of the gods.
Every place in Greece is blessed with its own value. If we could put all of Greece in a little bottle and just open it, a scent of olive trees, sea and a bunch of spice would come out. Maybe that is what inspired us, this heavenly place, to evolve. So many well-known poets, philosophers, scientists like Homer, Pindar, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates (father of philosophy), Pythagoras and more were Greek.
Well to sum up, which in this case is impossible, history, tradition and every kind of thing existing these days we owe it to these people. Every day in this country is an inspiration as it was in ancient years and it will remain the same. Even in modern times, values remain the same and Greece will too, a country full of civilization, kind people, love, food and a little bit of ouzo and Opa!
